Details about the Fund

Meaningful Work

The organization was incorporated in memory of Timothy James Hickman (March 25, 1975 - April 2, 1996) to honour his life, his passion for sports and his gift for caring and assisting people with special needs. The fund has been designed to provide an opportunity for people to help people with a disability reach their potential and enjoy participation in a sport.

 

OBJECTIVES

The main objectives of the Memorial Fund are:

  • To assist mentally and/or physically challenged individuals to participate in sporting and/or recreational activities, where specialized equipment and/or facilities are required.

  • To assist in the adaptation of equipment to allow mentally and/or physically challenged individuals to participate in sporting and/or recreational activities.

  • To assist specialized programs or individuals to acquire equipment to allow mentally and/or physically challenged individuals to participate in sporting and/or recreational activities.

  • To provide accurate, focused information and awareness programming on the topics of accessible and safe participation for mentally and/or physically challenged individuals in sporting and recreational activities.
